Turn Old Posts into NEW Content

You know that post you wrote a while ago that either got a ton of likes or barely anyone saw it, but you really loved what you said?
I started thinking... what if those posts could still work now? We see a lot of big names out there reinventing and reusing their content. But what about those of us who are solo or working with a small team? Can we actually do that too, without it being a huge project?
Turns out, yes. 100% yes.
How do I know? Because I tested it, on my own content and for other business owners too.
One day, I grabbed an older post I’d written and popped it into ChatGPT (just the free version). I didn’t have a paid plan and I was just tired of trying to come up with something new every time I needed to post.
I typed in a quick prompt:
“Rewrite this post a few different ways: one as a short caption, one as a carousel, and one as a story hook. Keep the tone casual and friendly.”
Then I hit enter and boom. ChatGPT gave me three fresh versions of that same post. Just like that.
It felt like magic, honestly. Now I do it all the time.
Here's what I do:
1. Pick an old post
It doesn’t need to be perfect. Just something you already shared that still feels true or helpful.
2. Paste it into ChatGPT
Use a prompt like:
“Rewrite this in 3 ways: a short caption, a carousel, and a story hook. Keep it casual and friendly.”
3. Ask for little tweaks
If it sounds too formal or awkward, I just say:
“Make this sound more friendly.”
And if it doesn’t have a call to action (like “comment below” or “click the link”), I ask:
“Add a call to action for each version.”
4. Get headline ideas
Need text for a reel or image? Ask:
“Give me 3 short headlines based on this post.”
If they’re too long, I’ll say:
“Make them 4–5 words.”
5. Make quote graphics
One of my favourite parts is asking:
“Pull out a few quotes from this post.”
These can be used on social medias as quote-style graphics, and I’ll even ask:
“Write a caption for each quote.”
Once I have everything, I throw it into a Google Doc. Then when I need a quick post, I just grab one, make a graphic in Canva, and I’m good to go.
No more starting from scratch.
I do this with two or three posts at a time so I have a bunch of content ready. I try to mix topics like AI tips, content ideas, and maybe something personal, and spread them out over time.
This whole thing has made content so much easier. I feel more on top of things, I’m not stuck staring at a blank screen, and I get to reuse the stuff I already worked hard on.
You don’t need to write something new every time. You just need to reuse what you’ve already said in a new way.
